
Like many involved in Jewish heritage work, Sasha Nazar, of the L’viv Volunteer Center (LVC) of the Hesed Arieh All-Ukrainian Jewish Charitable Foundation, is feeling frustrated that because of coronavirus measures he and his group can’t stage their annual summer work camps and other organized activities to preserve and restore Jewish heritage sites.

His solution? Informal Jewish Heritage flashmobs — to take place between August 10 and 16 — all joined under the social media hashtag #SaveJewishHeritage.
Activities can be as basic as cleaning up trash on the grounds of a synagogue or cutting weeds in an abandoned Jewish cemetery. (Remember that some sites could require permission to work there.)
