With the summer travel season in full swing, here’s another of our occasional spotlights on Jewish heritage travel and tourism. This time, we feature Itinerari Ebraici — a web site in Italian and English, with extensive resources and suggested itineraries for northern Italy’s Lombardia region.
Itinerai Ebraici is an initiative of the Rimon Project, promoted by the Jewish Community of Milan, together with a public and private partnership.
The web site includes 11 Jewish heritage itineraries in Lombardia, including two in Milan — where, it notes, sites not to be missed include:
a visit to the Central Synagogue at via della Guastalla 19, at the Library-Archives of the Center for Contemporary Jewish Documentation at via Eupili 8, on the ground floor a small oratory of the Italian rite, and the Memorial of the Holocaust (Track 21) in Piazza Edmond J. Safra 1.
Beside Milan, the other itineraries focus on individual cities, such as Mantova; or Soncino, capital of Jewish printing; or beautiful Sabbioneta — but also suggest tour routes that take in several places organized geographically.

The itineraries include Jewish heritage sites such as ornate synagogues, Jewish cemeteries, museums, archives, and memorials — as well as typical Italian Jewish recipes and information about today’s Jewish life (mainly in Milan, home to Italy’s second-largest Jewish community after Rome, but also in Mantova).
The itinerary pages on the web site include historical information, maps, routes, and many photographs — and at least some of the itineraries can be downloaded in PDF form.

I am looking for a guide for Mantova for 4 people in October.
I also would like to speak to someone about a virtual tour of Mantova to be presented on Zoom for my senior community centre.
