We are pleased to share this Call for Papers for the Future for Religious Heritage (FRH) 2024 Conference, which will take place from 22-24 September in Krakow, Poland. Deadline for submission is May 3.
The 2024 conference theme is “Religious Heritage in Transition: Challenges and Solutions.” The aim is to delve deeper into the concept of transition, probing the depths of challenges faced by religious heritage and seeking solutions for its enduring significance. How can we ensure that our heritage remains not only intact but thrives as a vital resource for all citizens in the sustainable tapestry of tomorrow?
Organisers invite scholars, practitioners, and others to propose papers on topics ranging from the craft of architectural conservation to the power of community engagement, and more.

The 20 selected papers will be invited to produce a poster that will be exhibited at the conference. Four papers out of these 20 will also be invited to give a 5-minute presentation.
FRH calls for papers on one or more of the following topics:

Resilient Heritage: climate change, demographic changes/migration, abandoned heritage, natural disasters, renewable energy, insulation, resilience

Sustainable Solutions: adaptive reuse, heritage crafts skills, maintenance/restoration challenges, best and worst cases, education, training for professionals

Digital Futures: new technologies in tourism, online promotion of pilgrimage routes, 3D mapping, virtual reality

Quality of Life: the role of religious heritage in the health and well-being of citizens, spiritual meaning of religious heritage, religious heritage contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
Submission guidelines:
- Abstracts must have a maximum of 200 words
- They may include up to two illustrations
- They must be English
- They must be submitted as a PDF or Word file
- They must be submitted through this form.
- The must be submitted by 3 May 2024 12:00 CET
