(JHE) — A new “My Jewish Italy” web site — and smartphone app — launched last month provide a comprehensive guide to Jewish cultural heritage sites as well as to kosher restaurants, Judaica shops, Jewish bookstores and other Jewish infrastructure.

Aimed at both visitors and local residents, myjewishitaly.it is a project of the umbrella Union of Italian Jewish Communities (UCEI), in association with the Foundation for Jewish Cultural Heritage and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
It supplements the Italian Jewish tourism web site visitjewishitaly.it that was launched two years ago. Both web sites are presented in both Italian and English.
The new My Jewish Italy lists synagogues, Jewish cemeteries, Jewish quarters, Jewish museums, Jewish communities, kosher shops and restaurants, Jewish bookstores and galleries, and other facilities.
The places it lists are keyed to an interactive map; otherwise, they are not presented in lists that are arranged in an alphabetical or other order.

My Jewish Italy is not fully comprehensive, however, as it only lists the orthodox Jewish communities and kosher venues associated with the UCEI — it does not list Chabad facilities, nor does it list addresses for the handful of progressive congregations around the country.
The myjewishitaly app is available — for free — on both Android and IOS platforms.
