
While the pandemic has curtailed much tourism there’s a lot going on on the local level in the coming week.
Here are some of the organized Jewish heritage tourism events scheduled in the coming week.

Bologna, Italy – August 11

Nighttime guided tour inside the Bologna Jewish Museum, discovering objects and stories related to Judaism. The tour is conducted by Cesare Barbieri, from the education department of the Bologna Jewish Museum. The tour is organized by the museum and it will be held in Italian. Time: 9 PM. Cost: €7. Booking required.

Thann, France – August 11 and 13
Guided tour of the city’s synagogue. Time: 3 PM. Duration: 90 minutes. Maximum 10 people, booking required, wearing a mask is compulsory.
Ingwiller, France – August 11
A guided tour of the synagogue and Jewish heritage in Ingwiller. Booking necessary — wearing face masks is mandatory. Time: 8 PM. Duration: 1.5 hours.
Florence, Italy – August 11, 13, and 16
Guided tour of the city’s synagogue and Jewish Museum. Booking required at: [email protected]. Time: 4.30 PM. Duration: 1 hour.
Eisenstadt, Austria — August 12

Every Wednesday at 11 a.m., a guided tour of the former Jewish quarter and Jewish cemetery, organized by the Austrian Jewish Museum. Cost: €3

Every Thursday at 11 a.m., a tour of the synagogue — for children, organized by the Austrian Jewish Museum. Cost: €2
Stockholm, Sweden – August 12 and 16
Guided tour around the city’s Jewish heritage sites. This tour will take place every Thursday and Sunday at 2 PM until September. Duration: 1 hour. Cost: 140/120 Swedish crowns. Booking required.
Pesaro, Italy – August 13
Every Thursday until September the Pesaro Municipality is organizing weekly guided tours at the city’s Jewish cemetery. Time: 6 PM. Duration: 1 hour. Info and bookings: +39 348 7751596

During all summer the synagogue will be open to visitors every Thursday from 5 PM to 8 PM.
Florence, Italy – August 13

Second event of the “Balagan cafe” weekly summer mini-festivals of concerts, kosher food, and other events. This year guests are required to book their place through the web site. This event is dedicated to the Jewish presence in the Mediterranean countries, with a focus on Southern Italy. Time: 7 PM.
Pisa, Italy – August 13 and 16
Guided tour of the Pisa synagogue, its history, architecture and rituals. Cost: €8. The tour lasts for 1 hour, starting at 4, 5 and 6 PM. Bookings at: [email protected].
Warsaw, Poland – August 16
Walking tour around the Muranów district in the traces of Polish-Jewish culinary traditions. The tour is organized by POLIN – The Museum of the History of Polish Jews. It accompanies the museum’s current temporary exhibition on Muranów, the former downtown Jewish quarter and site of the WW II Jewish ghetto. Time: 2.30 PM. Duration: 1.5 hours. Cost: 20/15/1 zloty.
Siena, Italy – August 16
Guided tour of the city’s synagogue, which dates back to the XVII century. The visit ends with a short documentary movie about the bimillennial Jewish presence in Italy.
