
The Association of Jewish Organizations and Communities of Ukraine (Vaad of Ukraine) and the Center for Studies of History and Culture of East European Jewry of the National University of the “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy” (Jewish Studies Center) have issued a call for applications for the post of project manager for the project to create a Holocaust museum and Memorial Center in the now-dilapidated ceremonial hall at the vast Jewish cemetery in Chernivtsi, Ukraine.
We reported in December about plans to establish this museum, which will be called the Museum of the Holocaust of the Jews of Bukovina.
According to the applications call, posted on the web site of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, the professional requirements of the position will include
— education – higher professional education (history, ethnography, etc.)
— work experience in humanitarian projects – at least 5 years;
— experience in project and program management;
— knowledge of current legislation with regard to museum work and the basics of labor law;
— PC user (knowledge of MS Office Word programs, Excel, Power Point), Internet
— fluency in Ukrainian, Russian and English (written and oral); with knowledge of Yiddish, Hebrew, German, and Romanian desirable
— ability to think strategically and plan current activities;
— knowledge of the rules and norms of labor protection, industrial hygiene and fire protection.
