There has been exhaustive coverage in the Polish and international media on the grand opening Oct. 28 of the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews.
The opening — at a ceremony presided over by the Polish and Israeli presidents amid several days of celebratory events — marked the official inauguration of the long-awaited Core Exhibition.
It has been hailed as a history-making event and a game-changer both in Polish-Jewish relations and in the way museums (especially Jewish museums) tell their stories.

Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to request access to a high-resolution version of a photograph from your collection.
The image is identified as:
“Portrait photograph of a Jewish couple”
(19th century, Kraków, attributed to Szymon Balicer)
From the album “Types et Costumes de la Pologne”
I am currently conducting historical and visual research, and I would like to obtain the highest resolution available of this photograph for study purposes.
If possible, I would appreciate:
A high-resolution digital copy (preferably original scan or IIIF full resolution)
Any additional metadata associated with the image (inventory number, provenance, catalog details)
If there are any usage restrictions, fees, or forms required, please let me know and I will be happy to comply.
Thank you very much for your time and assistance.
Kind regards,
Faissal Abrão Cury-Cohen
