The synagogue and Jewish museum complex in Florence, Italy is introducing a system of mobile ticketing via a smartphone app that the Jewish community hopes will streamline the process and also help visitors prepare better in advance for their visit.
The local edition of La Repubblica newspaper says the process will involve a smartphone app and scanning a QR code, which will take users to a web site, with confirmation of ticket purchase by credit card made by text message.
This system was recently introduced in Rome for sites including the Colosseum, the Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum.
