
The year 2015 marks the700th anniversary of the synagogue in Cordoba, Spain, and among activities leading up to celebrations, the fifth training seminar on Jewish culture in Cordoba, which takes place this week, focuses on tourism and especially the synagogue, write the local news sites diariocordoba.com and eldiadecordoba.es
The seminar is organized by the city, the local University and the Association of Tourist Guides in Cordoba.
The more than 100 participants will include tour guides and students of tourism. Speakers include the director of the Sefardi Museum in Toledo, Santiago Palomero; Rabbi Moisés Bendahan of the Federation of Jewish Communities in Spain, and the archeologist Daniel Botella.
Seminar topics include the Sephardi Museum and Transito Synagogue of Toledo; the work in Judeo-Arabic by Jewish authors of al-Andalus , synagogues as Jewish institutions, and synagogues and Andalusian Juderías, and Hispanic Jews in the Middle Ages.
