We are pleased to share the announcement of the online seminar “Documenting and preserving Jewish heritage in Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia.” It will be in English, and aimed at museum professionals and representatives of cultural heritage institutions in Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia.
The seminar will take place on July 29, 2026, on Zoom, from 18:30-20:30 EEST.
It is organized by the ESJF European Jewish Cemeteries Initiative, in partnership with Yad Vashem, Center for Jewish Art at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and the Museum “Jews in Latvia.”
The seminar will explore the preservation and documentation of Jewish heritage, with a particular focus on Holocaust archival records, Jewish artifacts in museum collections, and Jewish cemeteries as an integral part of Europe’s cultural heritage. It will also examine the specific characteristics and challenges of preserving Jewish heritage in Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia.
