We always like to highlight new examples of signage at Jewish heritage sites, so it’s good to note that new multilingual information signs have been installed at both of Rohatyn’s Jewish mass grave memorial sites.

They complement the signs at the two Jewish cemeteries installed in spring of last year., which we posted about HERE.
Like those, the new signs were designed, fabricated, and installed by ESJF European Jewish Cemeteries Initiative, using text and graphics provided by Rohatyn Jewish Heritage (RJH) and by individual members of the Rohatyn District Research Group (RDRG).
Both mass grave sites already have memorial markers with brief text. The new signage expands on this with more detailed information, in three languages — Ukrainian, English, and Hebrew.
It is part of RJH’s goal to expand knowledge of local Jewish history and heritage in the town, with signage, education, exhibits, and more.
