We are pleased to share this Call for Applications for the 2026–2027 edition of At the Source (ATS), the National Library of Israel’s (NLI) flagship training and development programme for professionals working with Jewish materials across Europe.
Deadline for applications is July 3, 2026.

The programme offers a unique opportunity to exchange knowledge, build professional networks, and engage with the NLI’s collections, expertise, and best practices—with the goal of strengthening and safeguarding European Jewish heritage collections.
Open this year to applicants from throughout Europe, the programme will include two immersive training weeks:
- Prague | 23–28 November 2026
- Jerusalem (The National Library of Israel) | 18–22 January 2027
The Prague seminar will focus on working with European collections within their regional and historical context. The Jerusalem seminar will provide participants with direct access to the National Library of Israel’s collections, expertise, and professional practice, with personal sessions tailored for specific needs.

Applications are invited from professionals who:
• Work directly with Jewish materials in European libraries, archives, museums, academic institutions, or community institutions with significant Jewish heritage collections
• Demonstrate initiative and interest in developing new professional skills and approaches within their institutions
• Are in a position where they can share knowledge and promote engagement with Jewish materials
• Have a good working level of English (comprehension and spoken language)
• Have a basic familiarity with the Hebrew alphabet (language fluency not expected)
Participants are expected to:

• Attend both parts of the program in full
• Actively engage in all sessions, workshops, and group activities
• Contribute to the shared learning environment and professional network

All costs are covered by the programme — Economy-class international travel; accommodations; daily
breakfast and lunch, and selected evening meals; visits and local transportation during program activities.
