Tonight is the last night of Hanukkah — we hope that the Festival of Light will inspire us in these difficult times!
At the start of the holiday, we celebrated light — posting images of Light and Lights in and around various synagogues in Europe — chandeliers, ner tamid, and stained glass; and sunlight streaming on facades or through windows.
Today, as it has become a custom — a modern tradition — to exchange gifts during the holiday — we are reprising our video of images of synagogue wall and ceiling paintings and other decoration that almost remind us of fancy gift wrapping….
