A web portal called “Patrimonio culturale ebraico: un tesoro da (ri)scoprire” — Jewish Heritage in Emilia-Romagna: a Treasure to (Re)Discover — has just been launched by a new network of institutions preserving and promoting Jewish heritage in Italy’s Emilia-Romagna region.
The network, established last year, is headed by the Foundation of the Jewish Museum in Bologna and aims to identify, promote, and provide access to the Jewish cultural assets — artistic, bibliographic, archives, and more — possessed or conserved by the network’s members.
The web site serves as a portal to the material and an information hub that will also provide digital tools as well as administrative and best practices models that will be available to the public.
To date, the institutions in the network include:
- Foundation of the Jewish Museum Bologna project leader
- Alma Finalis APS
- State Archives of Bologna
- State Archives of Ferrara
- State Archives of Ravenna
- Historic Archive of Modena
- Municipality of Finale Emilia
- Jewish Community of Ferrara
- Giacomo Lercaro Foundation
- Villa Emma Foundation
- Historic Institute of Forlì-Cesena
- Historic Institute of Modena
- Parri Historic Institute of Bologna
- Historic Institute of Reggio Emilia
- Synagogue and Fausto Levi Jewish Museum of Soragna
- National Museum of Italian Judaism and the Shoah, Ferrara
A map with dropdown on the home page provides information and links to each institution.
There are also links to enable other institutions to join the network.
