Grants from the Association of the Jewish Historical Institute in Poland will support several Jewish built heritage projects around the country, including documentation and other work in Jewish cemeteries, building restoration, and creation of memorials.

The projects are among 20 modest grants announced in October and awarded by the Association for 2023. The winners were chosen from 56 applicants. Total grants for all 20 projects amounted to 169,940.00 zloty (€40,000).
The grants are named in honor of the late Jan Jagielski, a pioneer in Jewish heritage work in Poland, who died in 2021.
The built heritage grants include:
To the Jewish Educational Center Foundation in Oświęcim for the Memory Bunker project, an educational project and commemorative Lapidarium made of rescued matzevot: 10,000.00 zloty (€2,300)
To the Municipal Cultural Center in Milejczyce for the project Returning Matzevas to the Jewish Cemetery in Milejczyce: 10,000.00 zloty (€2,300).
To the “Memory and dialogue. Common History” Association for the project Documentation of gravestones at the Jewish cemetery in Brzesko: 10,000.00 zloty (€2,300)
To the Association of the Center for Jewish Research for the project Inventory of matzevot of the former Jewish cemetery in Widawa: 9,500.00 zloty (€2,200)

To the Tadeusz Mikulski Lower Silesian Public Library in Wrocław for the project Pod Złotą Palmą – Jewish tenement houses in the center of Wrocław: 5,940.00 zloty (€1,400)
To the Society of Czarnków History Lovers for the project Save it from oblivion – Jewish funeral building in Czarnków: 9,500.00 zloty (€2,200) The project also includes rescuing matzevot used as paving.
To the Museum in Tarnowskie Góry for the exhibition Truly it was the house of God…the Synagogue in Tarnowskie Góry: 9,000 zloty (€2,200) The exhibition will include artifacts unearthed during archaeological research that uncovered the foundations of the synagogue, built in 1864 and destroyed by the Nazis in 1939.
To the Municipal Public Library in Brody (westernPoland) for the project Finalization of activities aimed at securing the area of the historic Jewish cemetery: 8,000.00 zloty (€1,800)

Jan Czochralski Primary School in Kcynia for the project They lived here for centuries – activities popularizing knowledge about the Jewish community of Kcynia: 6,600.00 zloty
Estera Rachel and Ida Kamiński Jewish Theater Yiddish Cultural Center for the Jewish Open University project – program of educational events in the amount of: 8,750.00 zloty
Society for Creative Activities “Talent” for the project History enchanted in the streets: 9,100.00 zloty
Spark Civic Accelerator Foundation for the project Cultural program for an exhibition about Jewish Breslauers: 8,500.00 zloty
