There is still time to submit a proposal for the conference “Architectures of the Soul.” The conference takes place October 19-21, at the Monastery of Batalha, Portugal.
Deadline for submission of proposals is March 31.
The conference “aims at promoting the scientific study and discussion around the architecture and landscape connected to religious and spiritual practices, grounded on the experience of seclusion and solitude.”
It will be structured around two main themes; each has sub-topics:
1. The history of religious experience;
2. The Future of Religious Heritage.
The conference aims to establish the platform for a multidisciplinary approach on the subject, gathering and crossing history, architecture, landscape architecture, cultural heritage, art history, computing science, among others.
Abstracts for 15-minute presentations must have no more than 300 words, written in English and submitted before 31st March 2023, along with a short bio with no more than 200 words. Each abstract must include: context, aim, methodology, results, conclusions and 5 keywords. Otherwise the abstract will not be considered.
