House of Life Head of Heritage – Willesden Jewish Cemetery

POST: Leading the “House of Life” department as well as the management and preservation of Judaica and historic records across the United Synagogue.
The postholder will work with key stakeholders including senior management, community leaders and trustees ensuring that US Heritage shares Jewish values across the fabric of the organisation, leading to greater Jewish engagement.
As the Head of Heritage, your main duties will be:
- Develop a new strategy, ensuring US heritage is a key value
- Develop, drive and deliver initiatives to support this strategy across the organisation
- Support and direct the attracting of new audiences, and broad public engagement
- Act as spokesperson and advocate for the project to key stakeholders
- Supervise the team to ensure targets are met
- Develop and maintain a high profile for the cemetery as a heritage visitor destination
- Assist with prospect fund-raising opportunities
- Work with communities to log and track all Judaica

The successful person will have proven experience in leadership and project management in a target driven environment as well as a track record of managing several workstreams at a time. Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential. You will be self-driven, forward thinking and have a problem-solving approach. In addition, you must be proactive in identifying opportunities for your own professional development as well as others.
