An international conference in June will be held to mark the 10th anniversary of Jewish Heritage Europe.
Called New Realities of Jewish Heritage, it will take place June 26-27 at the Galicia Jewish Museum in Krakow, during the annual Krakow Jewish Culture Festival.
Sessions will focus on concepts related to Jewish heritage issues, including strategy, challenges, and relevance, as well as Jewish heritage and the arts, including photography. There will also be a special session on Ukraine and the impact of the war.
The conference is organized by The Galicia Jewish Museum, the Taube Center for Jewish Life and Learning, and JHE, in partnership with the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland (FODZ) and in association with the Krakow Jewish Culture festival.
The conference will be streamed (details to come regarding the platform), but we look forward to seeing you in person, if you can make it!

If this is about pre Holocaust Jewish photography, I hope my Grandfather, Zalman Kaplan, of Szczuczyn Poland is included.
I have over 800 photographs made of daily life in Szczuczyn 1895-1939 gathered from 13 different counties. Many are in the collections of Yad Vashem, The Jewish Historical Institute-Warsaw,The Museum of Jewish Heritage-New York,YIVO, and more. They are also a part of the core exhibit of the POLIN Museum-Warsaw.
You can see his work on szczuczyn.com and also installations of the exhibit, LIVES REMEMBERED;Photographs of a Small Town in Poland 1895-1935. A coffee table book, LIVES REMEMBERED; A Shtetl Through A Photographers Eye, was published by The Museum of Jewish Heritage and is available on amazon.com.
