The Rothschild Foundation Hanadiv Europe has opened its Spring 2021 grant round and welcomes applications for the following programs. The deadline for applications is Wednesday 21 April, 2021 at 5pm (GMT):
Repositories across the breadth of Europe tell the story of the Jewish presence on this continent, from the Medieval period all the way up to the present day. Often fragmentary, at times fragile and generally underused, these records are some of the last surviving links between historic communities and the contemporary researchers investigating them.
Applications are welcome from any organisation or institution based in Europe (EU and non-EU states alike), where activities are deemed charitable under UK charity law.
NOTE: The Foundation is not currently accepting applications from Ukraine and Russia.
The mission of the Foundation’s Jewish Education programme is to develop a sustainable eco-system of professional and volunteer Jewish educators with the necessary skills and knowledge to engage and connect more Jews with Jewish life, learning, culture and heritage.
To achieve this mission, its Jewish education grants support communal organisations to enhance the level of Jewish literacy within their own programs and encourages the use of local heritage resources, including museums and libraries, as an effective tool for creative educational programmes.
The Museums Grant Programme supports the multiple missions of museums in the areas of collection management, exhibition support, professional training and other aspects that facilitate access to collections, provide evidence of the presence and contribution of the Jewish community in a particular European area, broaden the range of learning opportunities, engage diverse visitors, raise the professional level of museum staff and increase the museum’s visibility and audience. Preference is given to projects that have a long-term and measurable impact, and that foster exchange and cooperation. All projects must contribute to the preservation, documentation, and public exposure of Jewish heritage.
Applications are welcome from any organisation or institution based in Europe (EU and non-EU states alike), where activities are deemed charitable under UK charity law.
NOTE: The Foundation is not currently accepting applications from Ukraine and Russia.
The Foundation’s 2021 Academic Jewish Studies grants are already open for applications.
Applications are welcome from any organization or institution active in Europe (including Russia, Ukraine, Moldova and Belarus), whose activities qualify as charitable under UK charity law. Further restrictions apply to the Jewish education programme – please check the notes of guidance.

You can access more information on the different grant programmes on the Foundation website: www.rothschildfoundation.eu.
If you are submitting an application for a project that was not approved in the past, please contact the respective Grants Programme Manager before proceeding.
