The Union of Jewish Communities (UCEI) has put together online tours (in English and Italian) that provide self-guided, room-by-room (and/or 360 degree zoomable) experiences.
The zoom function allows the viewer to explore from closer the astonishing architectural and artistic details of the jewish sites, enriching uniquely your visit and the cultural experience.

Maybe worth mentioning are the Museum in Ferrara: Museo Nazionale dell’ ebraismo italiano e della Shoah (https://www.meisweb.it/) and of course Trieste with one of the most beautiful synagogues in Italy (http://www.triestebraica.it/it/culturaturismo/il-museo-ebraico).

wehave so much to be thankful for, this amazing film really shows the beauty and glory of the synagogues. I was in Livorno a couple of years ago and visited both the synagogue and museum and learned about the history of the community prior to Shoah and since. Well worth a visit , you have to arrange in advance but it is not as well known as the Venice ghetto area and has some real treasures also.
