We are pleased to share this call for papers for an international conference on Jewish Heritage in Slovenia, to take place September 18-19, 2019 at Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Deadline for submissions in April 25, 2019.
The conference is organized by the Center for Jewish Art (CJA) at Hebrew University, the Department of Art History in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Maribor, and the France Stele Institute of Art History at the Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts.
Background

The conference is organized within the framework of a two-year bilateral Slovene-Israeli research project entitled “Digitization of Slovenian Heritage,” launched in September 2018 by the institutions named above.
This project involves in-depth research, documentation and digitization of tangible and intangible Jewish heritage of Slovenia. It aims to create a special section of Slovenian Jewish heritage within the Bezalel Narkiss Index of Jewish Art.
The project follows on from the earlier work of the Israeli researcher Zusya Efron (1966); Jewish Heritage Europe Director Ruth Ellen Gruber and Samuel D. Gruber (1996); CJA and the Department of Art History at the University of Ljubljana (2000‐2); and Janez Premk and Mihaela Hudelja (2014).
