A richly illustrated guide brochure to Jewish Prague that can be downloaded in seven languages as a PDF has won an award in a competition for tourist promotions in the Czech Republic.
The 44-page guide, “Prague: Jewish” was prepared by the Prague Jewish Community and Prague City Tourism and was published last year. It won first prize for Tourist Guides in the competition sponsored by TuristPropag.
The guide includes history of the Prague Jewish community as well as information on Jewish heritage sites around the city. It also includes a section explaining basic Jewish concepts and one of notable Prague Jewish personalities. There is also information on kosher restaurants.
(Missing, however, is — other than the restaurant guide — information about today’s Jewish community and its facilities.)
