Severe storms and high winds toppled trees causing damage to gravestones and tombs in the sprawling Okopowa Street Jewish cemetery in Warsaw.
“We know of damaged tombstones and ohels, as well as of fallen trees,” the Warsaw Jewish community said in a Facebook post June 30. It also posted several dramatic photos showing toppled mature trees that had damaged graves.

The cemetery was closed to visitors while an assessment of damage was being carried out.
