Today is the European Day of Jewish Culture — marked this year with hundreds of events in more than 30 countries — and in some countries the “day” has become “days” or even a full week of events.
We hope that if you are near any of the venues, you have been taking part in what essentially is the biggest Jewish culture and education festival in the world.
There is a dazzlingly diverse array of individual events to choose from – lectures, concerts, food-tastings, book fairs, and more — plus many guided tours and informal visits to Jewish heritage sites that are generally closed to the public or limited in access.
The chosen theme of this year’s Day is “Bridges” — and many events stress aspects of dialogue and inter-religious cooperation.
You can access programs in participating countries at the web site of the European Association for the Preservation and Promotion of Jewish Culture and Heritage (AEPJ).
Enjoy!
