In recent years, the internet has seen a growing wealth of web sites, data bases and portals that provide searchable access to a vast array of digitized content and resources.
A list of projects in the field, built and compiled by Michelle Chesner from Columbia University Library, includes nearly three dozen valuable resources.
Resources on the list range from the digitized archives of the Joint Distribution Committee and the Leo Baeck institute, to web sites on Hungarian synagogues and the Network of Jewish Quarters in Spain’s collaboration with Google Maps, to Judaica Europeana.
Some of these sites we have already highlighted individually on Jewish Heritage Europe, in general resource pages or on our country sections, but the list as a whole provides easy access and site description. What’s more — you can submit your own web site or database if it does not appear.
