JTA reports that a Polish federation of strongmen has announced its partnership with the From the Depths organization, whose work includes rescuing Jewish headstones that have been uprooted from cemeteries and used for construction and other purposes.
From the Depths and the Polish Strongman Federation announced their partnership in a statement issued Sunday, the article says.
Two strongmen had already helped move two gravestones from a private garden last year.
The partnership means that “all of our strongmen from around Poland will be ready at a moment’s call to help From The Depths and their holy work,” JTA quotes Tomasz Kowal, former champion of the Polish Strongman Cup, as saying.
