The Bratislava Jewish Community Museum, which opened in June 2012, is located in the women’s gallery of the city’s one surviving synagogue — the orthodox synagogue on Heydukova street.
The permanent exhibits open on to the sanctuary of the synagogue, a cubist/modernist building designed by the noted Slovak architect Artur Szalatnai-Slatinsky (1891-1961) and inaugurated in 1926. The synagogue thus forms part of the exhibit. The museum logo is taken from the design of the windows of the synagogue.
The web site Bratislavskerozky.sk features a detailed photo documentation of the building and the museum, made this past summer.
