This has been on the internet for a few years, but it’s a lovely recollection of Jewish Bukovina — the onetime easternmost Austro-Hungarian province that is now divided between Ukraine and Romania.
To a Yiddish song tribute to the region, it is a slide show mainly of old postcards that featured Jewish sites in a number of towns — and sometimes photographs showing how they look today…such as the synagogue in Chernivtsi (Czernowitz) that now is a cinema….
