Mazel tov to the European Association for the Preservation and Promotion of European Jewish Culture and Heritage (AEPJ) on the launch of its new website/route on Architectural Modernism in European Synagogues!
Prepared by Jon Wright, the web site falls under the umbrella of the European Routes of Jewish Heritage.
It includes brief notes on Art Nouveau and Art Nouveau as Jewish Heritage; Art Deco and Art Deco as Jewish Heritage; Modernism and Modernism as Jewish Heritage and features synagogues of those styles in 15 cities in nine countries, including photographs, a brief architectural description and contact information.
There are a number of other synagogues from this period in Europe, so we look forward to the expansion of the Route to include them!
