Dmitro Panair has published a lengthy online article on the historic Jewish cemetery in Sataniv, Ukraine, focusing on the iconography of the stone carving and illustrated with lots of images.
The article, on the texty.org.ua web site, is in Ukrainian, but google translate does a pretty good job in conveying the meaning.
The cemetery in Sataniv dates back to the 16th century and has particularly fine and detailed examples of carving. It is one of the few places where the “three hares” motif — three hares chasing each other and joined by their ears — can be found in a Jewish context.
