A well-preserved mikvah pool has been discovered in Zamosc, Poland. According an article in Gazeta newspaper and quoted by Virtual Shtetl, it was discovered in the basement of the former late 19th-century Jewish bath house, during renovation work on the building.
Last year, the historical building was purchased from the local authorities by Czesław Kostykiewicz, an architect from Tomasz Lubelski, who plans to adapt the mikvah house into a hotel and a restaurant, preserving the historical character of the place, of course. The restoration works have been supervised by a monuments’ restorer and archeologists.
The bath house is located near the Renaissance synagogue in Zamosc, which reopened last year as a cultural center and museum after a renovation overseen by the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland.

I am trying to locate anything about my birth fathers family. Benjamin and Elke Feighner/finer/feichtner were my grandparents, born around 1828 in Zamosc. They had a daughter Esther in 1912 and a son Morris in 1915. Thery immigrated to America in 1926, Maryland. Had a son Norman in 1928. Norman married my mother in 1951. MY name is Nori LaVerne/Kit Bracher. If anyone can help me trace my family line or heritage, customs, languages, I would grately appreciate you help. Thank you.
