On Oct. 6 and 7, street games resembling treasure hunts are being organized in the cities of Kolobrzeg and Szczecin in northwest Poland to enable participants to discover Jewish history and heritage there. Organizers are the Museum of the History of Polish Jews, the Jewish Historical Institute Association, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Poland and various local partners.
According to the announcement on Virtual Shtetl:
Teams of two-four members will take part in the game. Before starting the game, the participants will be given coded information about the sites which they will have to identify. They will find questions or tasks on each stop on the route. It is recommendable that you bring your own camera or a mobile phone equipped with a good-quality camera. The rest will be provided by the organizers. You will go on foot throughout the whole route, which will take you approximately three hours. The winners will be awarded attractive prizes. The winners are those who best complete the tasks and who complete the route the most quickly. The game will be followed by food and drinks. We will also listen to short speeches by our guests. We have also prepared a surprise for all the players, regardless of their results in the game.
