
We are pleased to share this call for applications for a Hungarian national seminar on Jewish cemetery preservation, organized by the ESJF European Jewish Cemeteries Initiative and taking place in Budapest July 21-22. Deadline for applications is June 22.
Professionals working in museums, interested in local history and cultural heritage, as well as teachers, are invited to participate. NOTE: The seminar will be held in Hungarian.
The seminar will cover the following topics:
1. Introduction to Jewish religion, history, traditions, and everyday life
2. Familiarization with collections of Jewish archives and museums
3. Reading epitaphs and understanding symbols on Jewish gravestones
4. Exploring Jewish heritage sites in Budapest
5. Visit to a Jewish cemetery in Budapest
To register, please fill out the form by 22 June. Applicants will be informed of the selection results by 26 June.

Please note: spots are limited; travel expenses must be covered by participants; meals and, if needed, one night’s accommodation will be provided (please indicate lodging needs in the application form).
