The Jewish Museum in Oslo is calling for nominations for a new Jewish Culture prize it has instituted for people or institutions that promote or have promoted Jewish culture in Norway.
The winner will receive a certificate and 20,000 Norwegian Krone (c. €1,700); the award will be presented during the European Days of Jewish Culture in early September.
Honorees must contribute to or have contributed to the promotion of Jewish culture and/or Jewish identity, or of interest in Norwegian Jewish history and Jewish life in Norway. They will be judged on their engagement as well as quality.

The museum was established in the mid 2000s and occupies parts of a synagogue built in 1921. It receives around 6,000 visitors a year to its three permanent exhibitions and its temporary exhibitions. It also has a research department, several education programmes, and an extensive collection of artifacts, and it programs numerous cultural events.
