The Center for Jewish Art at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem runs the Bezalel Narkiss Index of Jewish Art, the world’s largest repository of documentation on Jewish visual culture.
The Index’s more than half a million images feature a vast array of objects, including ancient artifacts, Hebrew illuminated manuscripts, synagogue and other Jewish architecture, ceremonial objects, sepulchral art, fine art, ephemera, and memorials spanning five continents.

This growing database can serve as an invaluable tool for educators, students, researchers, museum professionals, and anyone engaged in the study of Jewish art, folklore, material culture, heritage, and history.
But the amount of material can be daunting.
To help people get the most out of the database, the Center for Jewish Art is offering a free, 45-minute on-line webinar designed to help people effectively navigate the Index and utilize its diverse tools. Conducted by Dr. Anna Berezin, Head of the Ritual and Ceremonial Section at the Center for Jewish Art, the webinar can also be integrated into course curricula and other group activities.
We are pleased to share the call for participants.
At the moment, a webinar is planned for September 17 or 18, depending on the schedule of people who are interested. But other dates will be possible.
