How can museum professionals respond to developments such as wars in Ukraine, in Israel and in the Middle East, hybrid threats, rising polarization and populism, geopolitical and economic instability, climate change, and demographic decline? Can we remain true to our values while staying connected with our core stakeholders or partners — our audiences, donors, witnesses, researchers and diverse political actors? Are there ways to expand our scope, open new perspectives, and engage broader segments of the public? And, not least, prepare ourselves and the next generation for the complex realities that are already unfolding? How can Jewish museums narrate the story of our times and remain compassionate and inclusive places of appreciation, reflection and empowerment?
