Distinguished Service Awards presentation, from the Friends of Jewish Heritage in Poland

The Friends of Jewish Heritage in Poland organization presents its second annual Distinguished Service Awards to:

Piotr Puchta, former CEO of the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland (FODZ)

and Natalia Romik — archirect, scholar, activist, museum and exhibition curator.

Sunday, February 1, 2026 at 12 PM EST, 6 PM Poland Time, 7 PM Israel Time

 

Piotr Puchta is former Director General (CEO) of the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland (FODŻ, a partnership of the World Jewish Restitution Organization and the Union of Jewish Communities in Poland), owner of 150 cemeteries and dozens of synagogues. Mr. Puchta, also a former Ambassador-at-Large of Poland, is being honored for his exceptional leadership of FODŻ and his work in building partnerships for the preservation and commemoration of sites of Jewish cultural and religious significance throughout Poland.

Natalia Romik is an architect, researcher, and curator whose work explores Jewish survival, memory, and space during and after the Holocaust. She is widely known for her innovative exhibitions centered on Jewish survival.  Dr. Romik is being honored for deepening the understanding of the Jewish experience in Poland and ensuring that this history is preserved and thoughtfully presented through her work.
