Bagnowka cemetery unveilings

Ceremonial unveiling of  newly restored walls and gate of the Bagnowka Jewish Cemetery in Bialystok, and the unveiling of the gravestone off Sara Zamenhof after its renovation. Sara was married to an uncle of Ludwik Lejzer Zamenhof, the creator of the Esperanto language, who was born in Białystok in 1859. 

 

This event is organized as part of this year’s Summer Action in collaboration with the Bialystok Cultural Center (BOK) and the Bialystok Cemetery Restoration Foundation.

15:00 – What do the matzevots say? ABC of Hebrew tombstone inscriptions, workshop led by Krzysztof Bielawski
