SUMMARY:Stockport online Jewish Heritage Trail Launch
DESCRIPTION:Stockport Jewish Heritage Trail is a new free digital trail exploring the history of the town centre’s Jewish communities. \nStockport is a town in northern England\, about 7 miles south of Manchester – famous for its industrial history\, particularly in cotton and hat making. The town became a major centre for these industries during the 18th and 19th centuries. \nThe trail uses memories\, historic photographs and maps to tell the story of shops\, market traders\, synagogues\, homes\, activists\, war memorials\, refugees and more from the 1800s onwards. This online launch will highlight several key buildings and sites on the digital trail\, while also explaining how to use it. It will be led by Kevin Bolton\, a Stockport resident and archivist who created the trail.
