DESCRIPTION:Through a collection of historical photographs\, Sharon Reichel\, co-curator alongside Valeria Rainoldi of the exhibition “An Italian Journey. Discovering the Jewish Cultural Heritage\,” will guide you on an immersive tour of Jewish quarters\, synagogues\, and cemeteries in cities such as Venice\, Rome\, Florence\, Padua\, and Mantua.\n \nThese images come from two photographic collections of great cultural and historical significance: the Hungarian Ernő Munkácsi collection\, featuring images of Jewish life in Italy captured between 1927 and 1940\, and the archive of F.A.C.E. – the Federation of Jewish Cultural Associations – created in the 1920s and 1930s.\n \nZoom talk at 12.30 PM (ET)/ 6:30 PM (CET. DESCRIPTION:Discover the story of Jewish life in medieval London with the Jewish Square Mile Foundation at the Barbican Centre. \nA programme of expert talks\, walking tour and family activities will bring this period vividly to life while challenging some of the myths that surround it. Speakers include leading scholars Dean Irwin and Rory McLellan\, whose research offers fresh insight into the everyday lives and experiences of medieval Jewish London. \nThe Jewish Museum will be running a series of children’s activities throughout the day\, with crafts including collage\, hat making and brick making. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
