SUMMARY:10 Centuries of Judaism: A look at Jewish heritage in the Grand Est
DESCRIPTION:This exhibition is an opportunity to (re) discover the objects and places of Jewish life through photographs from more than 50 years of study of the general inventory.  They show majestic witnesses of exceptional architecture as well as quality goldsmithery and more humble objects of daily life\, sometimes from Genizot. From the evocation of the work of Talmudist Rashi (v. 1040-1105) to the synagogues rebuilt after the Second World War\, the exhibition  touches nearly ten centuries of Judaism in the Grand Est. The exhibit is in Bouxwiller after being presented  for the first time in Strasbourg\, in 2019\, and then Troyes in 2024. \nVisit: \nWednesdays\, Thursdays\, Fridays\, Sundays and public holidays \n10 a.m./13 a.m. – 2 p.m. to 6 p. \n

DESCRIPTION:Adapting to Change: The Artwork of Beverley-Jane Stewart \nThe British artist Beverley-Jane Stewart focuses on synagogues as a starting point to trace the changes in the lives of the people around them. \nIn this major retrospective\, the Manchester Jewish Museum presents three of Stewart’s series of paintings: \n\nSynagogue Series: An intimate invitation into some of the UK’s most remarkable places of worship.\nJewish Visual Stories: A chronicle of change within British Jewish communities.\nBeyond the Ashes: An exploration of destroyed synagogues and their enduring connections.\n\nThe exhibition can be visited as part of General Admission to the museum. \nBeverley-Jane wrote a Have Your Say personal essay for use last year about how her Romanian Jewish heritage inspired her work.
