Ukraine-born, L’viv-trained architectural historian Sergey R. Kravtsov, now at the Center for Jewish Art in Jerusalem, has published a definitive and richly illustrated study on the Turei Zahav, or Golden Rose, synagogue in L’viv, which he has been studying for years. Built in 1582, it was destroyed in World War II and is now a ruin.
