We’d like to remind you that the conference JEWISH HERITAGE TOURISM IN THE DIGITAL AGE, organized by Beit Venezia, Jewish Heritage Europe and the Rothschild Foundation Hanadiv Europe, will take place in Venice, Oct. 23-25.
Registration is required — many people have already registered, but there are still places available. Click here to register.
The conference will focus on the challenges and opportunities posed by Jewish heritage tourism and travel in Europe — both in places where there is an active local Jewish population and in places where there are sites of Jewish heritage but no organized Jewish community.
It will address issues that reflect the growing diversity and energy of Jewish and Jewish-themed tourism in Europe, both for Jews and for others. But it will also address both the specifics of Jewish heritage tourism and how it fits within heritage tourism/travel in general. Special emphasis will be given to the ways in which technology influences and possibly changes Jewish heritage tourism.
Speakers range from academics and analysts to tourism professionals including museum personnel, tour guides and tour operators.
