This Lecture is the thirty-eighth in the Jerome Nemer Lecture Series, which explores the contributions of Jewish thinkers to Western intellectual life.

Distinguished University Professor Emeritus, Founding Director, Institute for Holocaust, Genocide, and Memory Studies, University of Massachusetts Amherst Professor James Young’s richly illustrated presentation, based on his most recent book“The Stages of Memory: Reflections on Memorial Art, Loss, and the Spaces Between” includes reflections on his experiences as a juror for Berlin’s Holocaust Memorial and New York City’s 9/11 Memorial competition.
