There are plenty of episodes of vandalism of Jewish sites, and we do not tend to report on every one of them — particularly not when the vandals’ tool is spray paint.
But this episode in Poland strikes a particular chord.
Monika Krawczyk, CEO of the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland (FODZ) reports that unknown vandals scrawled antisemitic graffiti reading “F… the Jews” on the wall of the recently renovated 17th century synagogue in Zamość, Poland.
She writes:
The damage is significant, because the whole wall has to be repainted.
The restoration of what is described as the only Renaissance synagogue in Poland, completed in 2011, was a major project of FODZ. The building is now used as a culture and arts center, with a Multimedia Museum of the History of the Jews of Zamość and the Surrounding Area.

What a shame!.It should not happen in my city. I have just returned from there. The synagogue is beautiful, the vandals should be jailed.
Ignorance still goes on in this time and place!
